Esteban Almeida was a Cuban revolutionary and politician who was also a reputed mob boss who was the leader of the Almeida crime family in the 1950s and 1960s. Almeida used his title of General de Ejercito (Army General in English) to have government backing in his operations, but he was ultimately murdered by the Trapani crime family in 1960.

Esteban was born in 1901 by Cuban Father and Sicilian Mother, his family was extremly poor. he joined Cuba Army as private in 1919. Almeida enlisted in Fidel Castro's revolutionary army during the Cuban Revolution of 1956, and despite his links to organized crime, he fought alongside his "true believer" younger brother Ramon Almeida but his oldest brother Bernardino Almeida hates goverment. He also remembered that Castro promised a monopoly on organized crime, so when the revolution succeeded, Almeida was allowed to take over all of the casinos that used to be owned by the American Mafia. He allied with Hyman Roth, a Jewish kingpin who wanted to regain his casinos at any cost, and thus gained connections in America. In 1959, when Dominic Trapani attempted to shoot Cuban Comandate en Jefe (Commander-in-chief in english) Fidel Castro on orders from Roth, who wanted President Fulgencio Batista to take over and restore the Mafia's casino rights, but Roth actually tipped Almeida off; he wanted to deliberately send him to his death. However, Trapani shot his way through Cuban soldiers and Almeida gunmen as Esteban called for him to come out and surrender. After the assassination attempt on Castro, Almeida went to war with Trapani. Almeida and his family expanded into Miami while Dominic was busy extorting Almeida's assets in Havana, and his soldati were whittled down in a series of hits.

Later, Trapani and his men attacked the Almeida Compound with his crew, shooting through the many Almeida enforcers, and Esteban was gunned down while toting a Modified AK-47, and his compound was bombed, eliminating his family.
