Biography[]
Scalice was born in Palermo, Sicily, in 1893, and later emigrated to the United States, and settled down in New York, in The Bronx's neighborhood of City Island. He became a Capo in the D'Aquila crime family under Salvatore D'Aquila, and fought with Alfred Mineo after his murder of D'Aquila in 1928. Scalice arranged the murder of Mineo and Steve Ferrigno with aid from Salvatore Maranzano, who became his strong ally, and he became the Boss of the D'Aquila Family for a few months in 1931. However, with the end of the Castellammarese War, Lucky Luciano deposed Scalice, who became Underboss. In 1945, he helped Bugsy Siegel with the Flamingo Hotel's construction in Las Vegas.
Death[]

Frank Scalice dead
Frank Scalice was shot on 17 June 1957 in a vegetable market by two assassins that pledged allegiance to the Gambino crime family, and was succeeded as Underboss by Carlo Gambino.
Frank Scalice's murder is believed to have been ordered by Albert Anastasia himself, who had sentenced him to death because Scalise was believed to have sold Mangano Family membership to the highest bidder, leading to untrustworthy and uncapable members.
