Gerlando "George from Canada" Sciascia was an Italian Mafioso and a Caporegime in the Bonanno crime family who was a participant in the Three Capos Murder in 1981. In 1999 he was shot for telling Joseph Massino how to run the family.
Biography[]
Sciascia was a native Sicilian who immigrated to the United States and became a zip in the family, and was associated with the Canada Crew of the Bonanno crime family which included Vito Rizzuto. His first major job was the hit on the Three Capos at the 20/20 Night Club in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, as he was the killer of Dominick Trinchera.
In the 1990s, Sciascia soon became more aligned with the Rizzuto crime family than the Massino crime family. Relations soured between him and Massino, finished when he murdered Joseph LoPresti, a Soldato without permission from the Don. He was too independent and was thus considered a traitor.
Death[]
Sciascia was shot in Joe Spirito's SUV by Patrick DeFilippo with a silenced pistol and his body was dumped on the side of the road, and a witness called the police.
