James Scaleri was a Enforcer/Soldato of the O'Donnell Mob and the older brother of Ray Scaleri. The two brothers were assassinated in 1948. James was alongside his younger brother Ray Scaleri.

James and his younger brother Ray Scaleri were born brothers in Chicago, Illinois in 1900 and 1910. The two became mob enforcers under the Chicago Outfit's O'Donnell Mob puppets, and worked as hitmen for boss Patrick O'Donnell. In the 1940s they served a jail sentence for their murders before they headed to New York City with the family. When they were released, they planned to get revenge for the murder of Patrick by Aldo Trapani.
