James Scaleri was a Underboss later Don of the O'Donnell Mob also the younger brother of Carlos Scaleri and Ray Scaleri and older brother of Earl Scaleri. The two brothers were assassinated in 1948. James was alongside his older brother Ray Scaleri.

James and his brothers Carlos Scaleri, Ray Scaleri and Earl Scaleri were born brothers in Chicago, Illinois in 1897, 1905, 1906 and 1914. The four became mob enforcers under the Chicago Outfit's O'Donnell Mob puppets, and worked as hitmen for boss Patrick O'Donnell.
