Weinstock was born to a family of American Jews, and he became a lawyer. Weinstock became involved in the narcotics underworld and had ties to the Jewish Mob, one of the major criminal organizations of New York City. Weinstock was a participant in the "French Connection", and he worked with mobster Salvatore Boca in his plan to smuggle heroin into New York City through Alain Charnier, a French businessman who had tens of millions of dollars-worth of drugs. However, the deal was crashed, and Weinstock was held accountable for his crimes. He was indicted by a grand jury; however, the case was dismissed for "lack of proper evidence".
