MS-13 gangsters in prison
MS-13, also known as Mara Salvatrucha, is a predominantly-Salvadoran gang that was founded in the 1980s in Los Angeles, California to protect Salvadoran immigrants from Mexicans in the city. The gang is now 70,000 strong, with gangsters in other US states, Canada, Mexico, and back home in Central America. The Maras have been infamous for their brutal executions, their vast amount of tattoos (including face tattoos), as well as their rule over Salvadoran prisons. They are allies of the Surenos, Sinaloa Cartel, Gulf Cartel, La Familia Michoacana, Mexican Mafia, Yakuza, and Los Zetas, while they are enemies of the 18th Street Gang, Juarez Cartel, Los Negros, Sombra Negra, Tijuana Cartel, Beltran-Leyva Cartel, Bloods, Crips, and the Latin Kings.
