Marco Cuneo was the Underboss of Cuneo crime family. He was the son of Don Carmine Cuneo and the brother of Leo Cuneo, and he was killed in the Five Families War.
Biography[]
Marco Cuneo was the son of Don Carmine Cuneo, and he was of Sicilian descent. Marco was the brother of Leo Cuneo, and the two of them were underbosses of the Cuneo crime family, which their father led. Marco was known to be a pillar of the community, and he was friendly with law enforcement in Hell's Kitchen, New York City. He attended the local gym and learned to fight there; while he was a perfect citizen in public, he was secretly a brutal commander and killed several Corleone crime family soldiers during the Five Families War of 1946-1955.
Death[]
In 1955, after the end of the Five Families War, Corleone capo Peter Clemenza decided to destroy the Cuneo family's strength by killing Cuneo. He met Aldo Trapani in Abbandando's in Hell's Kitchen, and he sent Trapani to whack Cuneo in a way that would make it seem like a "traffic accident". While Marco was in front of the courthouse in Hell's Kitchen, Trapani killed his guards, and Cuneo fled towards a bridge over the train yards, just across the street. Trapani told him that it was a shame to kill him, as he was a real pillar of the community, and he threw him over the ledge on the bridge. Cuneo fell to his death, and his murder led to his brother Leo Cuneo declaring a brief mob war against the Corleones in revenge. This mob war was the last major action of the Five Families War.
