The Molinari crime family were an Italian and Italian-American Cosa Nostra syndicate operating out of San Francisco from the 1930s to the 1980s, founded by Anthony Molinari. They were allies with the Los Angeles Falcone crime family and the New York Corleone crime family. In 1979, the family was eradicated by the Atlantic City Massacre, where boss Nicodemo Molinari was gunned down with virtually every other Don on The Commission. The Lanza crime family succeeded them as the bosses of San Francisco.
History[]

Nicodemo Molinari
The Molinari Family of San Francisco was created in 1931 by Tony Molinari, a Sicilian immigrant. The Molinaris were powerful on The Commission, and allied with Frank Falcone and Vito Corleone to increase their position. The Molinairs were involved in the dope smuggling into the Mexican border area into the Baja California region, using Los Angeles as another base under the auspices of Falcone's organization. Molinari also invested in the casino business and they offered protection for Vito's son Fredo Corleone in Las Vegas during the Five Families War. Despite this generosity, the Corleones sabotaged a plane carrying Frank Falcone, Molinari, Lefty Mancuso, and Richard Aspromonte, crashing in Dayton, Ohio, and killing all onboard except for Corleone made man Nick Geraci, who swore revenge.
The Molinaris were weakened following Tony Molinari's death, and Nicodemo Molinari succeeded him as boss. Nick Molinari remained allies with the Corleones and he recieved a part of Michael Corleone's casino shares when Corleone announced his retirement from the casino business in 1979 at a meeting of The Commission in Atlantic City. However, almost all of the Dons were killed when a helicopter piloted by some of Joey Zasa's hitmen gunned down the room's windows and sprayed the casino with bullets from the minigun. Only Corleone and his bodyguards Vincent Mancini and Al Neri, and the Dons who had made arrangements with Joey Zasa, escaped the slaughter.
After the massacre, the family was eliminated and defunct.
