Philip "The Priest" Giaccone was a Caporegime in the Bonanno crime family who was one of the victims of the Three Capos Murder of 5 May 1981, alongside Dominick Trinchera and Alphonse Indelicato, in a Brooklyn nightclub, by Vito Rizzuto and his associates.
Biography[]
Giaccone was born in Ridgewood, Queens, in 1932 to a Catholic Italian family. He was made into the Bonanno crime family under Joe Bananas, the boss of the organization, who made him his right-hand man as his Capodecina. Giaccone was fiercely loyal to the family and after Bonnano's death conspired against Joseph Massino, the new boss with fellow Caporegimes Dominick Trinchera and Alphonse Indelicato. The Giaccone Conspiracy was found out and resulted in the Three Capos Murder.
Death[]
While at a Clinton Hill nightclub with the other two Capos, he was pinned down by Vito Rizzuto and some other Canadian mobster of the Rizzuto crime family, as were the other two made men. His body was driven to a lot in Lindenwood owned by Gambino Capo John Gotti, who owed Massino a favor, and was discovered in October 24, 2004, alongside Trinchera, while Indelicato was found only a few weeks after the shooting itself.
