Nick Quaranto
The Quaranto crime family are an Italian organized crime syndicate that operate mainly in the London neighborhoods of Croydon and New Addington, one of the Five Families of Britain, an allusion to the Five Families of American organized crime. They were founded in 1945 by Nick Quaranto, an ambitious boss who created a criminal empire that stood the test of time.
History[]
Nick Quaranto created his own organization following the end of World War II, hiring several Italian military personnel who had been help captive in England as muscle for his empire. He started out by purchasing some weapons and extorting local fronts, every day checking up on the front with one more man accompanying him each time. The Quarantos were an example of nepotism, however; the main members were all of Quaranto bloodline, and the Underbosses were only of Quaranto descent; the Quaranto family was quite literally a family.
In the 1970s, the Quarantos expanded into New Addington and in the 1980s fought with the Dominici crime family over the precious cocaine crime ring. When their Underboss Luigi Quaranto was put out of commission by the Dominicis permanently, the mob warfare raged, and many made men on both sides were wiped out.
