Raphael Marciano was an underboss of the Corleone crime family, and he worked with Peter Clemenza's crew in Brooklyn. In 1946, he was one of the men present at Paulie Gatto's former safehouse after his assassination by Aldo Trapani, and he informed Aldo that the Corleones would contact him when they needed his help (they were fighting against Virgil Sollozzo and the Tattaglia crime family at the time).
