Servando Gomez Martinez was the founder and leader of the La Familia Michoacana (2009-2011) and the Knights Templar Cartel (2011-2015).
Biography[]
Servando Gomez Martinez was born in Arteaga, Michoacan, Mexico on 6 February 1966. He served as the operational chief of the La Familia Michoacana cartel, and was indicted in the United States for both the cocaine and methamphetamine trade. In 2010 all of his assets in the United States were frozen, and after the alleged 2010 death of Nazario Moreno Gonzalez, the LFM disbanded. He led the Knights Templar Cartel until he was arrested on 27 February 2015 in Morelia without any shots being fired, and he was sent to a supermax prison.
