Simon "Songbird" Finch was an American gangster who was a Soldato in the Barzini crime family. He was initiated by The Commission, although he was actually of German and Irish descent, which he is most notorious for.
Biography[]
Finch joined organized crime at a young age, becoming a lethal enforcer for the Barzini crime family. He ran operations such as diamond smuggling in Midtown, and worked under Capo Big Bobby Toro. Finch became a Soldato, but was deemed an unofficial one by The Commission, since he was not Italian. Nevertheless, he played a key part in the distribution crime ring, running the Palermo Warehouse, and became a savvy businessman and a top-notch diamond racketeer.
In 1955, the Corleone crime family muscled in on his business, with their Underboss Aldo Trapani attacking the fortress with a handful of hitmen. They killed all of the Barzini enforcers defending the racket, and was bought out by Trapani, handing over tons of money to the Corleones each week and running the warehouse for Michael Corleone.
