Steve Grosser was an associate of the Barzini crime family. He was in charge of the EVG Maritime Hub at the docks of Hell's Kitchen next to the West Side Highway, and in 1955 Aldo Trapani forced him to pay tribute to the Corleone crime family.
Biography[]
Steve Grosser was born to a Jewish-American family in New York City, and he built the EVG Maritime Hub up from nothing. He smuggled diamonds and cars into Midtown through the docks of Hell's Kitchen under the supervision of the Barzini crime family, who stocked up the Barzini Hub through his business, which was nearly impenetrable. In 1955, Aldo Trapani and a crew of Corleone crime family hitmen launched a night attack on the hub, killing dozens of Barzini buttonmen at the docks and in the hollowed-out old ship that Grosser used as his headquarters. After every Barzini was dead, Trapani found Grosser at the bridge of the ship, where he shook him up and forced him to give the Corleones a cut of his profits. The loss of the hub was a huge blow to the Barzini family, which had already lost its Midtown hub.
